Well, as promised… Here is a training update for Brittany Runs for Water!!
I cannot believe how out of shape I am in comparison to this time last year!? I started training Nov. 1 (exactly 6 mo. away from race day!), and have only been running 3-5 mile runs thus far. And WOW, I am really out of shape both physically and mentally. But slowly but surely, I’m getting the hang of it again. My body isn’t revolting like it did the first week, well not as much anyways.
This past week, I’ve “run” into one really big training obstacle… lack of sun. Since the time changed, it gets dark SO early and I don’t make it home from work before dark! Sad… I know. So that means that my weekday training (M, W, Th) takes place on a treadmill (BOOOOO). Fortunately, my weekend runs can take place in the beautiful outdoors so that is really helpful.
This past Saturday was particularly beautiful and I wanted to share pics with you. (YES, I did bring my phone with me on my run… not to take pics, although I ended up doing so, but bc I was running solo and I’m a chicken. I don’t want to end up being that headline: “Female Runner gets nabbed in the woods of Raleigh in broad daylight.” For some reason I believe that my phone will scare off any bad guys and if by chance they aren’t terrified by my pretty pink phone, it will turn into a taser or I’ll at least be able to calmly call 911 in the middle of being physically attacked… duh.)
